This study refers to the use of the Digital Storytelling Method (DSM) in teaching the novel "El Filibusterismo" by Jose Rizal to secondary school students. The purpose of the research is to explore how the Digital Storytelling Method can deepen students' understanding and appreciation of the novel's themes, characters, and context.

In this study, the One Group Pre-test-Post-test Design was used, in which the students underwent a pre-test and a post-test to measure their progress in knowledge. The result showed that the Digital Storytelling Method was an effective teaching method for "El Filibusterismo" because it provided a higher level of engagement and critical thinking from the students. Moreover, it was found that the use of the Digital Storytelling Method opened up more opportunities for collaboration and creative expression among students.

This study recommends the more widespread use of the Digital Storytelling Method in the teaching of classic literature in schools.
