Author/s: Sr. Riza L. Losamia, MSC |

This study investigates the relationship between teacher motivation and job performance within the Philippine educational system, focusing on the factors that influence these dynamics. Utilizing Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory as a conceptual framework, a mixed-method approach was employed to collect quantitative and qualitative data from teachers at Kalibo Aklan Sun Yat Sen School, Inc.

The findings reveal significant correlations between hygiene factors, such as salary, working conditions, administrative support, and intrinsic motivators, including recognition and opportunities for professional growth, and teachers' job performance and satisfaction. Specifically, a positive correlation was identified between hygiene factors and job performance (r = 0.372, p < 0.05) and a stronger correlation between intrinsic motivators and job satisfaction (r = 0.780, p < 0.05).

The study concludes with recommendations for educational policymakers to implement comprehensive support programs that address hygiene factors and intrinsic motivators, enhancing teacher satisfaction and improving educational outcomes.
