Research Capability of Allied Health Educators in a Local University in the National Capital Region

Teaching and research strengthen the significance of education and prepare learners for the new and emerging needs of the labor market of the twenty-first century. Research capability requires consistent application of the acquired competency to generate new knowledge, research output, and innovations. Majority of the faculty in the Allied Health Program have their master’s degree, 1-5 years of teaching experience, and 1-2 publications.

The overall result of the study shows that Allied Health Educators have a positive outlook in undertaking an action research. They believe they are capable of finishing an action research, have strong motivation to write research, and strongly agree with leadership skills in research. However, they perceived they are moderately capable in action planning skills (3.22).

In conclusion, research capability requires consistent application of the acquired competency, and research demands a tremendous amount of motivation, attitude, and skills.
