CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED IN CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT BY THE SELECTED PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS OF MINDANAO AUTONOMOUS COLLEGE FOUNDATION INCORPORATED MALUSO BRANCH: A QUALITATIVE-PHENOMENOLOGICAL STUDY

This study aims to identify the challenges encountered by Pre-service Teachers of the Mindanao Autonomous College Foundation Incorporated, specifically in classroom management. This study will also serve as contributory knowledge-based research to equip student teachers with strong support in identifying suggestions for plans and preparation for the next incoming batch of Pre-service teachers of the institution. The study employed a qualitative research design and utilized a phenomenological approach. A qualitative research approach was chosen for this study because it aimed to identify the first-hand experiences by determining the challenges encountered in Classroom management by selected pre-service teachers of Mindanao Autonomous Colleges Foundation Incorporated. This approach delved into non-numerical data, gaining insights into pre-service teachers’ experiences and challenges in classroom management during field study. The researchers used a random sampling method to select the respondents and utilized an interview with focus group discussions to gather data that appropriately answered the questions posed by the researchers and validated by the panel of experts. The study revealed that the most common Challenges in classroom management encountered by the pre-service teachers of MACFI Maluso deployed in various public elementary schools are Children’s noise, Learner’s low level of reading comprehension, Lack of participation in actual class discussion, Disciplining of learner’s behavior, Time management, Mastery of lesson planning, Choosing appropriate teaching strategies, Short span of attention of the learners, Not conducive classroom due to exceeding number of learners in room capacity, Insufficient Instructional materials and Financial Support. These are the suggestions of the researchers that the next batches of preservice teachers should be active, patient, and optimistic when dealing with learners from the primary grade. Prepare your lesson plan and instructional materials ahead of time, set a classroom rule before discussing a new lesson, Clear communication with the learners, and explore new classroom management techniques.

EXPLORING THE SOCIAL VALUES AMONG SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: BASIS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ACTION PLAN TOWARDS TEACHING AND LEARNING

This research investigated the social values of senior high school students as a foundation for creating a framework for learning and teaching. Mixed method of research was used with 25 senior high school students as participants. The research investigates important social values including conflict resolution, civic responsibility, community cooperation, environmental awareness, and cultural identity. Quantitative data revealed that there was a high consensus among students on the impact of family on their social values, especially in aspects such as respect for the elderly and community participation. Qualitative data showed the important role played by the elderly in resolving conflicts, the importance of community collaboration, and the need for environmental conservation. Findings indicate that family influence, community engagement, and cultural heritage are essential in the development of students' social values. The result suggests the need to develop a model that incorporates experiential learning activities into the senior high school curriculum.

With the increasing global exposure to risks and hazards, communities face the growing challenge of managing their impacts on human health and safety. A lack of proper knowledge and guidance can lead to poor disaster management, leaving people more vulnerable. This study aimed to assess the disaster preparedness level of the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee (BDRRMC) in selected high-risk barangays in the City of San Fernando. A quantitative descriptive survey design was used, involving 36 respondents from 18 barangays using a Likert scale questionnaire. Results revealed that BDRRMCs were only partially prepared for disasters. There were no significant differences in preparedness based on age, gender, or educational attainment. However, a significant difference was found in disaster response based on the respondent’s position. While BDRRMCs demonstrated strengths in all preparedness aspects, their overall readiness was still lacking. The study recommends implementing strategies to enhance preparedness and improve community resilience.

ASSESSMENT OF MICROFINANCE SERVICES, UTILIZATION AND PERCEPTION IN A RURAL COMMUNITY IN QUEZON

This study assesses the utilization and perception of microfinance services in rural community in Quezon. Microfinance institutions provide financial services that are primarily supposed to enable economic empowerment of the marginalized, but the effectiveness of such services in local contexts remains unexamined. It was a descriptive survey research that concentrated on 100 respondents who used microfinance services. The objective of the research were to get information on the usage pattern, satisfaction levels, challenges and suggestion for improvement. Findings indicate that there is a great usage of microfinance services within the rural community, especially on business expansion purposes, with the majority of respondents using these services regularly. In general, satisfaction level are positive. However, a number of respondents identified challenges facing the services in the form of high interest rate, complicated application processes, and inadequate customer service. Respondents overwhelmingly expressed willingness to recommend the service to others. Key recommendation on how to enhance microfinance services include reducing interest rate, simplifying the application process, increasing loan amount, improving customer service, and more comprehensive information and support. The study provides microfinance institutions with insight on aligning their offering with the requirements of the community, which consequently contributes to an improvement in rural community economic outcome.

THE INFLUENCE OF ENTERPRISE RESOURCE PLANNING SYSTEM ON ACCURATE FINANCIAL REPORTS WITH USER COMPETENCE AS A MODERATING VARIABLE AND INTERNAL CONTROL AS MEDIATING VARIABLE

ERP technology creates strong information systems that provide a competitive advantage to firms in the face of fierce competition and Accurate Financial Report for firms’ financial efficiency. This research focused on the significance and influence of ERP systems on accurate financial reports with user competence as the moderating variable and internal control as the mediating variable. The predictivecausal method was used with the help of finance professionals to determine if the ERP System, Internal Control System, and User Competence variables were significant to the firm’s efficiency.  The findings showed that ERP Systems were supported by Accurate Financial Reports. Next is the Internal Control System acts as a mediator to Data Integrity, System Integration and Automation were not supported by Accurate Financial Reports and only Reporting Functionality was supported by Accurate Financial Reports. Lastly, as User Competence as moderator, both Data Integrity and Automation were supported by Accurate Financial Reports while System Integration and Reporting Functionality were not supported by Accurate Financial Reports. The Internal Audit, IT, and Finance Departments will collaborate to assess current controls, identify gaps, and develop a comprehensive framework while HR, IT, and Finance Departments will implement appropriate segregation of duties to minimize risks. The Internal Audit, IT, and Finance Departments will conduct regular reviews and tests to assess control effectiveness and address weaknesses. The study contributes facts that there is an impact and significance of ERP System on Accurate Financial Reports among private entities with user competence as the moderating variable and internal control system as the mediating variable.
